Tell us about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society foundation that you support and how the community can support the foundation?

As founder of Quintero and Partners I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in South Miami for a few years and this year I was blessed to be nominated by them in “The Man and Woman of the Year”, it is the opportunity for community leaders like me, people who have businesses, men and women with the opportunity to apply or be nominated, to represent this great cause not only locally but nationally. The objective is to be able to get donations for this society, emphasizing that The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a non-profit society, which only uses 3% for administrative expenses, and 97% of the money raised is destined to help families who need it at this moment, who are going through cancer situations, not only directly affected but indirectly affected by family members who have cancer; unfortunately if there are no financial conditions, cancer can kill these families and it is something that is a great affliction. It touches me personally because unfortunately in the course of my life, we have had episodes of cancer in my family, so I think it is important that with the blessing and the abundance that my God has given me through these years, I must contribute to the community, to do something that is really important. Last year more people died from cancer in the United States than from COVID-19, but these are numbers that literally aren’t shown to the public because we are all focused on this virus, and it should be known, that apart from COVID-19 there are other things that are happening and affect our community, our families and the family of our families, it is important that we take them into account because we are stronger together than apart, any contribution, whether $5 or $1000, will go directly to people who really need it.
